The Business Unit Robotics develops, produces and distributes pipetting robots for the automation of liquid handling processes for a wide range of customers from the pharmaceutical and food industry, all the way to cell and DNA research.
How you can make a difference:
You support the synthesis and system verification/validation while considering the complete problem from Market, Operations, Performance, Manufacturing, Test, Disposal, Training & Support perspective
The System-Engineer considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers as conveyed by the Product-Management organization, with the goal of providing a quality set of system-architecture alternatives
You ensure that all development practices are in compliance with Hamilton’s best practices policies and procedures. You will also actively be contributing to the definition of the above mentioned polices.
With your founded multidisciplinary knowledge, you will support the development and improvement of process-driven systems as required by Hamilton’s products
You will create and document functional processes for installation/Run-In & Final QC Macros before they will be implemented
You cooperate with Product Management and Senior Eng. Management for the definition of product maintenance projects, roadmaps, technologies, budgets, etc.
You transfer and implement technologies, methodologies and workflows as defined in common agreement with the Head of R&T
You develop and use product knowledge to innovatively respond to the customer’s critical needs
You align the different disciplines and their interfaces from Hardware, Electronics, Embedded Software and Software Development
You ensure, that the system fits into Hamiltons product strategy
That’s what you bring along:
Must:
Master's degree in SW, Mechatronic, Physics or related field
At least 5+ years’ experience leading large design efforts and coordinating cross-functional teams of 4 or more members
Proven experience in System-Model Design
Proven experience in simulation setup and results interpretation
Expert with at least one System-Modelling environment (Matlab/Simulink, Octave, Scilab, etc.)
Experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
Fluent English with the ability to speak German (min. B2 level)
Nice to have:
Background (or knowledge) in Design Control Process
Knowledge of scripting languages as advantage
Expert with at least one requirement-management tool (Doors, Polarion, etc.) – Polarion as advantage
Experience with testing and data-analytics as advantage (statistical approaches to data-analytics as advantage)
Robotics knowledge is an additional plus
Background in Physics or Fluid-dynamic as advantage
